Ka Ono Ulu Estates

Ka Ono Ulu Estates (also written Kaonoulu Estates) sits on the makai side of Piilani Highway in North Kihei, close enough to the highway to make commuting easy in both directions, toward Kahului and Wailuku one way and toward Wailea and Kaanapali the other. The association covers 170 homes, most built in the early to mid 1990s. Real estate sources describe Betsill Brothers as the subdivision's second developer, building many of the single-family homes here. That family construction business is still active on Maui today, now operating as Betsill Brother Construction; the original Betsill Brothers Construction Inc. entity has since dissolved. Because homes here went up over time through multiple owner-builders rather than a single master-planned rollout, the neighborhood has a noticeably wide mix of architectural styles, from traditional single-story homes to contemporary plantation-style and custom two-story builds.

The community maintains its own HOA, with a site at kouestates.org. Its central location is the real draw: buyers get quick highway access to jobs and errands in Central Maui while staying within a reasonable drive of South Maui's beaches and Wailea's resort amenities. It's a practical, established neighborhood for buyers prioritizing location and value over a uniform architectural look or resort-adjacent amenities.
