I sell homes, condos and land across Maui, and I have closed more than $100 million of it. I live in Paia, on the North Shore, which is also where a good part of my business is.

My husband Rob and I moved here from New York in 2015 for what was supposed to be six months. That was eleven years ago. I grew up in Michigan and worked in New York, London and Chicago before that, and I spent over a decade running marketing and business development for large international law firms. That is where I learned contracts, negotiation and how to keep a complicated transaction moving without anybody losing the thread.

Before joining Compass I was co-owner and Broker-in-Charge of Maui Paradise Properties, a small local brokerage. Running it taught me the rental side of this island in detail: vacation rentals, long-term rentals, second homes, and all the ways the rules around them can change under an owner.

A lot of my clients are buying from four time zones away, and most of them are making the same decision Rob and I made. So I spend a fair amount of time on the part that comes before the search: whether Maui is actually the right move, which side of the island fits how you live, and what it costs once the vacation version wears off. I write and film that material every week because the answers are the same often enough that they should be free.

I sit on the Government Affairs Committee for the Realtors Association of Maui, which is how I keep close to the short-term rental rules as they move. I also serve on the PTO leadership team at Montessori School of Maui and the membership committee at Maui Country Club, and I volunteer with What Makes You Feel Beautiful, a nonprofit here that works with girls on Maui.
