Built in 1974, most homes are two-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath layouts around 785 square feet, with a smaller run of one-bedroom units near 610 square feet, all served by a pool, elevator, on-site laundry, and a BBQ and recreation area.
Short-term vacation rental is not permitted at Harbor Lights, and as a residential building in Kahului rather than a resort-zoned property, the county's Minatoya-list and Bill 9 phase-out rules that apply in Wailea, Kihei, and West Maui simply don't come into play here. Long-term renting is a normal and common part of life in a building this size, and with association-paid cable and a pool included in the dues, it's built for people who live on Maui full time, not for a rotating cast of vacation guests.
